Welcome to The Long Island CW Club Challenge!

Name:  The Work All LICW Members Challenge or LICW Challenge for short, is a daily on-going event. 

Time frame:  Resets every quarter (3 month interval), starting April 1st 2023 at 0000 UTC (8PM ET the night before).

Bands:  160-2m (12 bands, including 60m). CW Only. Vband and Hotline can be used, but point value is halved. A member cannot score another member on both internet and on air.

Suggested calling frequencies (+/- 5 KHz):  1.837, 3.557, 7.057 (7.037 in the EU), 10.117, 14.057, 18.077, 21.057, 24.897, 28.057, 50.097, 144.057 and any 60m channel. CQ format:  CQ LICW

Exchange:  RST, SPC (State, Province or Country), Name, LICW # / bonus letter(s) (where applicable)

Possible bonus letter(s): 
Kids – K
Instructors – I
Moderators – M
Admins – A
Special Monthly Member – S

Note that in the case of multiple bonus letters, ‘S’ should always be sent last.

Points:  1 point per member and on any band. Work a member on 160-6m and you could earn 11 points from that member.

Base scoring per QSO (one of the following):
Kids (K) : 4 points
W2LCW : 3 points
K2LCW : 5 points
Members : 1 point
Instructors (I), Moderators (M), Admins (A) : 2 points
F2F (Face to Face) : 5 points for both operators
Between two F2F stations : 10 points for both operators

Bonus points per QSO (any that apply):
Contacts outside North America : +2 points
Special members of the month (S) : +3 points
All-time first QSO : +10 points

Additional points (at the end of the quarter):
Each unique state / SPC worked : +1 point

Example : If WB2UZE works G0POT, who is a special station for the month, that would be :
2 base points (instructor)
+ 2 (contact outside North America)
+ 3 (special station)
= 7 points

Non Member QSO’s: If you are running and make a QSO with a non LICW member, all points will count if you send that station an email inviting them to join LICW.

Special weekly on-air challenge assistance class:  Saturdays, 12 Noon ET, Zoom A.

Prizes: Certificates can be created at the end of each 3 month period:

Gold, 176 minimum points
Silver, 76-175 points
Bronze, 10-75 points

Log submission:  Point submission is on the honor system.  Scores should be maintained via the challenge logger app.
